Our vision is to be a leader in Computer Science education and research within the state and achieve national prominence in both these areas.
Educationally, we will provide a student-focused learning experience to attract students of high-quality and potential from diverse backgrounds, and enable them to attain their educational aspirations by helping them to learn and pursue lifelong scholarly activities. We will inspire our students to succeed and contribute to society as future leaders of their profession.
Professionally, we will encourage and support academic, professional and personal development. We will support and foster ethical scholarly endeavors aimed at meeting the technological and scientific needs of local industry, government and society. We will strive to establish synergistic relationships across several disciplines, actively involving ourselves in harnessing the advances in computing research for the benefit of humanity. We will focus on multi-disciplinary, collaborative research and education initiatives that strengthen and grow our program.
To accomplish our vision in education and research, we will leverage and complement existing strengths of our department (bolstered by complimentary strengths within UALR) to focus on our five specific, yet deeply interrelated strategic goals.
