Computer Science facilities support both classroom instruction and research projects being conducted by faculty and students. With 7 computer laboratories available the Computer Science Department can present and support a wide spectrum of computer subjects covering most interests in the computer science discipline.
Research supported by our computer laboratories has spanned a variety of sponsors ranging from local industry, Acxiom, to NASA. To help the student with costs the Computer Science department can also provide, through an agreement with Microsoft, a large percentage of the software needed by the student. Software that is not covered by the agreement with Microsoft is provided by the open source community, freely available to the student. Installed on the department’s computers available for student use, where proprietary licensing is required, or is packaged with textbooks for various courses.
